Predictive analytics drives patient behavior and engagement

Quest HealthConnect manages several million insured lives annually closing gaps in care through Health Risk Assessments (HRA), Diabetic Retinal Screenings (DRS), and Osteoporosis Screenings (OSTEO). The Key to creating results for clients is "Right-Person-Contact" (RPC), confirmed appointments, and completed encounters.  Quest HealthConnect wanted to increase their performance to grow revenue and market share.

Utilizing this longitudinal database, Quest HealthConnect partnered with the Quest Diagnostics analytic team to to create higher quality demographic information, propensity modeling, and predictive analytics for engaging potential patients.  Additionally, because this database contained longitudinal health information of patients over time, we could report back to the health insurance client's historical insights into their patient population unavailable to them, even through their own claims experience.  This clinical reporting could also be utilized to assist physicians in the field to drive higher quality HRAs with patients.

Further, gaps-in-care diagnostics could be completed digitally without new costs to the plan for results that may not have been reported to the insurance company.

The information was used to create personalized health plans and interventions that target specific behaviors and risk factors. For example, propensity modeling identified those patients at higher risk for disease and could be prioritized for outreach and management.  The results of the HRA could be used to identify patients who are non-adherent to their medication regimen, and interventions can be designed to help them better manage their health.

Finally, the data can be used to track patient progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, allowing for continuous improvement and refinement of the strategies used to change patient behavior.
